Dear Members

We would like to express our gratitude for your continued understanding and cooperation in the activities of our society, and we wish all members good health and success.

◇◆◇◆Announcement of the 84rd General Meeting of the Japanese Society of Public Health ◇◆◇◆　

The general meeting will be held in Shizuoka City, with a pre-event on Tuesday, October 28th, and the main event from Wednesday, October 29th to Friday, October 31st. Many of the lectures and symposiums will be available on demand, but there will also be a number of programs available only on-site.

This time, we will be holding new events such as piano performances, group work, roundtable sessions, and early morning runs. Please apply in advance for any sessions you require, including lunch seminars and group work.

Although the 28th is before the start of the conference, some symposiums will begin in the afternoon. On the 29th, sessions will begin at 8:40 and the opening ceremony will begin at 10:30. In the evening, there will be a Hallelujah Chorus from 17:50, a one-coin (500 yen) opinion exchange session from 18:00-18:40, and an open lecture (film screening) for citizens from 18:50.

　Regarding accommodation, we apologize that the links on the general meeting website are almost fully booked and prices are rising. If you search for hotels on Google Maps, you will find other hotels and inns. You may also find it easier to find hotels in Shimizu, Yaizu, or even further afield in Fuji and Kakegawa. Regarding the JR Shizuoka-Higashi-Shizuoka Station line, we expect trains to be so crowded that it will be difficult to fit everyone on the train, so we ask that you stagger your arrival time. Doors open at 8:00, so we recommend arriving a little later. Childcare facilities require reservations. Children are welcome at the general meeting.

　There is no blanket ban on photography at this general meeting. If you wish to prohibit photography of your presentation, please state or mention this in your presentation.

The Japanese Association of Public Health has established a "Cooperative Member" system that provides those who are interested in the society's activities with the opportunity to participate in the initiative by waiving membership fees. This marks the third year of the system, and many people have registered. This system is open to members of societies affiliated with the Japan Federation of Public Health Associations, members of societies that are members of the Association of Social Medicine Specialists, and employees of national or local public organizations who have never joined the society.
